ZaaK mission is to become a global leader and a supplier of Smart Sand, Lypors™. We aim to arrest the depletion of natural sand caused by mining of beaches, coastal areas and riverbeds, and thereby reduce degradation of precious ecosystems impacted by sand mining.
ZaaK is a start-up company that has developed award winning patent-pending technology that converts coal combustion by-products generated by coal-fired power stations into value-added construction sand called, “Smart Sand or Lypors™“, an alternative to natural sand. The product will transform the multi-billion-dollar construction industry through its key characteristics which include higher energy efficiency and extended service life.
Leightweight
Smart Sand is up to 50% lighter than normal sand. The typical bulk density is in the range of 800-900 kg/m3 and 900-1,100 kg/m3 for Smart from hard coal fly ash and lignite fly ash, respectively.

Fresh mortars from Smart Sand can be up to 35% lighter than normal mortars resulting in speed of construction and lower energy consumption for pumping. Similarly, concrete made from Smart Sand can be up to 25% lighter than ordinary concrete, allowing: reduced size of load bearing elements including columns and footings.
